Solar installation costs vary depending on your roof, electricity usage, and other factors. We’re happy to provide a free, personalized estimate based on your home and energy needs. Call (662) 689-2427 or contact us to get started!

How much money can I save with solar panels?

Your exact savings will depend on your electricity usage and how much power your system generates. We’ll size your system to match your usage so that it saves you as much money on your electric bills as possible. Many of our customers offset most or all of their electricity costs with solar and only pay the service charges on their bills.

Can I finance my solar installation?

Yes! There are excellent financing options available for Florida solar installation. We partner with Climate First Bank in St Pete to provide non-predatory solar loans. We also offer affordable leasing options. Call (662) 689-2427 or contact us to talk to one of our consultants about your financing options. We offer free, no-pressure consultations to help you find the right fit.

What solar incentives are available in Florida?

Residential solar systems are eligible for a 30% federal tax credit, property tax exclusion, and net metering. Commercial solar systems are eligible for additional incentives, including a domestic content bonus credit and accelerated depreciation. We’ll walk you through all the incentives you qualify for and how to claim them as part of your free consultation.

Do solar batteries qualify for incentives?

Yes! Solar battery systems are eligible for the 30% federal solar tax credit. You can claim the tax credit for battery storage whether you install solar panels with a battery or add a battery to an existing solar system. You can also claim the tax credit for a standalone battery that charges from the grid.

Can you sell solar energy back to the grid in Florida?

You can sell the excess electricity your solar panels produce to the electric grid in exchange for utility credit. This is called net metering. All investor-owned utilities in Florida (Florida Power & Light, Duke Energy, and Tampa Electric Company) are required to offer net metering. Electric co-ops are not required to offer net metering.

HOW SOLAR WORKS

How do solar panels work?

Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity. During the day, your house or building will automatically use the electricity generated by your solar panels. If they generate more electricity than you can use at once, the extra is either sent to the grid or stored in a battery for later use.

What happens with solar panels at night?

Your solar panels won’t produce electricity at night. But you will still have power. The solar systems we install are connected to the electric grid, so you can use grid-generated electricity at night, on a cloudy day, or if there’s ever a problem with your solar panels. If you participate in net metering, your credits will help cover the cost of the power you buy from the electric grid when your solar panels are not producing electricity.

Do solar panels work during a power outage?

Your solar panels will only stay on during a power outage if you install a battery. You can use your battery to keep your essentials, like your refrigerator and WiFi router, on while the grid is down. If you don’t install a battery, your solar panels will automatically shut down during a power outage. This is a safety precaution that prevents them from sending electricity into the grid while linemen are out making repairs.

Do solar panels need a lot of maintenance?

Not at all. Our systems are low-maintenance and built to last. If you ever run into a problem with your system, however, we’re here to help. We offer solar maintenance and repair services for all solar power systems, even those we did not install. Contact us to get started!
